Network Security: What You Should Know
How worried should you be about network
security? Consider the following:
Computer virus attacks cost global
businesses an estimated $55 billion in damages in 2003, a sum that
will rise in 2004.
-Trend Micro Inc.
Last year, there was almost one major virus attack every month.
-REUTERS
Over 25% of attacks today are coming from Web pages and downloads.
-Fortinet Inc.
Fully 45% of the free files collected via KaZaA, the most popular
program for downloading free files and music, contained viruses,
Trojan horse programs, or
backdoors.
-TruSecure Corporation
50% to 75% of all commercial websites can be hacked.
-Gartner Group
Overall things got worse in 2003. The total number of viruses
reported ‘in the wild’ increased by 24%.
-TruSecure Corporation
The number of new viruses discovered every month continues to
increase. In the last quarter of 2001, the Sophos virus lab was
processing around 1200 new viruses each month.
-Sophos

NetCheck®
find security threats before they find you
|
|
NetCheck®
is our vulnerability assessment program
designed to help you find and eliminate security threats on your
network. NetCheck® comprehensively analyzes your servers,
firewalls, and other network devices for potential vulnerabilities,
including:
-
Weaknesses that would allow a hacker to
get into your network and access sensitive data
-
Susceptibility to viruses, worms,
trojans and other dangerous programs
-
Holes and weak spots that would allow
outsiders to exploit your network infrastructure for malicious
purposes (i.e. using your email server as a spam relay server on the
internet, etc)
Although NetCheck® includes a very
thorough range of tests, it is designed to be quick, non-disruptive
and inexpensive. A full NetCheck® session typically takes less
than two hours to complete, during which users continue to have full
access to network resources. At the conclusion of the audit,
the technician will provide a comprehensive report detailing the
results, and make recommendations on how to best eliminate any
discovered threats.
Pricing
A basic NetCheck® audit costs a flat
rate of $200.00. A higher rate may apply for larger
organizations or when additional auditing services outside the scope
of Atvantage's typical procedures are desired.
